It’s about that time again… get ready for a mega-track roundup as we’ve been saving up a bunch of killer tracks to get you on your way. No small talk, here we go!

Masoud feat. Josie – Leave it All Behind (Tritonal’s Air Up There mix)

For those that don’t know, Josie’s the the sister of popular vocalist Jaren who made tracks such as Unforgivable and others with Armin. Her voice suits this track from the up and coming rising star duo Tritonal from Texas, USA. The two have cranked out over 15 tracks in 2008 and half as many remixes; here at TDM, we pay special homage to those who we feel give the trance dance music scene the dance part of it. Their music is most similar to Ferry Corsten’s own style, (their remix of We Belong is amazing as well) and this release does not disappoint as well. We usually put our favorite track at the end of all the reviews, but we thought we’d switch it up this time. Premiering on ASOT 420, this track may have gone unnoticed to much of the general populace, but definitely not here at TDM. Check it out today.

John O’ Callaghan feat. Audrey Gallagher – Take it All Away (Sean Tyas Remix)

One of the hit tracks from JOC’s new album: never fade away, this song debuted with a Marcus Schossow remix on ASOT, but the rather lackluster beats of Marcus found its way one end of our ears and out the other. The track was a bit too bland to be digested, but the core song just needed a remixing artist that knows how to remix (especially in the style of trance he specializes in), and that is the final finished product with the Sean Tyas remix of this track. It’s great, amazing, and a host of other adjectives. Cop it today.

DJ Tiesto – Louder than Boom (Extended Mix)

Love the artwork on the vinyl collection. With that said, Tiesto is back to his King of Tech-Trance ways. Killer track with an amazing break and buildups + payoffs. I think that in all honesty, the graphic above says it all about the track. Grade A track from Tiesto, go find it on iTunes and get it now.

Dash Berlin – Waiting (Vocal Mix)
Dash Berlin – Never Cry Again

These two tracks are the headlining vocal tracks from Dash Berlin’s new album, which has already established vocal trance successes Man on the Run and Till the Sky Falls Down. The editorial staff here at TDM feels these two are the two that stand out particularly in the album, and apparently so do most other DJ’s and artists (like armin, A&B etc) who have already featured them on their radio shows. If you get a chance, check the album out and especially these two tracks.

Aly & Fila – Khepera (Leon Bolier Remix)

Egypt’s legendary duo Aly & Fila have another hit on their hands with Khepera. The release is combined with Leon Bolier’s amazing remix of the track. We prefer the Bolier remix, but both are quite good. Aly & Fila are two artists that keep pumping out exactly the type of music that we love so much here at TDM, so keep an eye on them and their radio show Future Sounds of Egypt (which also happens to be their record label name)

M6 – Deep Inside (Vocal Tech Mix)

M6 is an alias that pretty much only makes quality tunes, from when he started using the M6 alias and his first couple tracks. This one is no different. Beautiful melodic tech trance hit, it definitely warrants some attention for those who like smooth melodic buildups and the grating tech trance sounds we’re so familiar with from Mark Sixma regardless of if he’s producing under M6 or Re:Locate etc.

Sean Tyas – I Remember Now (Original Remix)

Falling in line with what we said earlier about Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas recently completely reworked his old track “Remember” and re-released it as “I Remember Now” under Aly & Fila’s label FSOE. This isn’t some minor rework or mastering and AR’ing, the only people who will remember his original song from hearing this are die-hard tyas fans. This track definitely has much more variety and is a very strong case for the ways Tyas’s producing experience has grown. The release comes with a Push (M.I.K.E) remix, and a Sied van Riel remix, but honestly, Tyas songs are not really meant to be remixed. His sounds far better than the others, as they should since his songs have a pure dance element to them that MIKE and SvR do not use in their productions. Don’t get us wrong, some of our favorite songs are plastic boy and push songs, but Tyas really brings an element of pure uplift to trance that really should not be corrupted by other artists. Definitely a tune to check out.

Lange ft. Sarah Howells – Let it All Out

Leave it all behind, Take it all away, Let it all out? Is there some kind of trend with female vocalized song names? All joking aside, this is an awesome vocal track which is the follow-up to last year’s “Out of the Sky”, which in our opinion is one of the top tracks Lange has ever produced in his many many long years of producing. It’s a tough bar to compare any track to, and on first listen, this song does not compare. It definitely grows on you though, and is most certainly catchy and worth taking a listen to. Check it out if you get a chance.

First State ft. Sarah Howells – Brave (Original Mix)

This is the promo song for First State’s new upcoming album, once again with Sarah Howells as the vocalist. In a bit of a similar fashion, we did not enjoy it that much at first listen; but with a few plays, the song has become incredibly more catchy and great. First State uses Cosmic Gate’s new bassline sound and a few other things to achieve a harmonious balance between vocals and ambient sounds. This track gathered the highest margin of Future Favorite on ASOT with almost 50% of all votes, and if you give it a few listens you will know why.

Roger Shah & Tenishia ft. Lorilee – I’m Not God

Yeah, there’s definitely a few artists that we love here and feature all the time (although we are not paid to!). Roger Shah is one of those whose music does not immediately epitomize Dance Trance Music, but almost all of his beautiful balearic tracks are so melodic and driving that we feel the need to include almost all his new remixes and tracks in our reviews. This one is no different. Amazing vocals provided by Lorilee, his collaboration with Tenishia results in outstanding tracks on the release. We really cannot decide if the Tenishia remix or the Roger Shah remix is better, but this is a good thing because both are great and vastly different in style. Another magical production from his label Magic Island, get it when you can.

The time has finally come: This is TDM’s way of saying thanks for all your continued support. We have secured the rights from the management that ran (the now defunct) Avalon in NYC to offer you all probably one of the top sets that Ferry Corsten had spun when Trance was at the highest point of its peak from its explosion in the late 90′s and early 2000. This simply is the best of the best, the best of both worlds, and like the dotcom bubble, the Trance Music bubble burst shortly after as well… and it has only very recently recovered from it. Tracks in the tracklist that are bolded are our personal favorites, italicized ones are absolute classic tracks, and some permutation of them… I’m sure you can guess the meaning. So without further ado, grab the high quality set recorded live right here

Enjoy! Stay tuned, the next installment of the hottest new tunes is gonna include in-depth analysis of some of the newest tracks. Love the dichotomy between Roger Shah’s melodic and balaeric guitar riffs contrasted with Signum’s signature harsher sound? We’ll talk about that among other new movers and shakers. As always, feel free to leave any relevant comments

The staff over here at TDM has been swamped lately with what’s going on in the EDM music scene. From going to various gigs by Ferry, Armin, etc. to the legendary ASOT 400 events that went on for 3 days, the site has been a bit stale as of late. Well, we figure what better way to break our hiatus than to explode from the shell of inactivity with a flurry of absolute killer tracks that have been rocking clubs all over the world lately… so without further ado, let’s take a look at some awesome tracks!

Passive Progressive ft. Rachele Warner – Hide Away (7 Skies & Static Blue remix)

The first release from the new label S107, a sublabel of Armada, this track is definitive of what the S107 is aiming for; quality vocal progressive trance. It showcases the talent of newcomer Rachele Warner, whose voice sounds similar to Smith & Pledger vocalists Carrie Skipper and Melinda Gareh for the classic bangers Forever and Connected respectively. The original mix is somewhat lackluster, but 7 Skies & Static Blue pick up the slack in their remix for a very catchy synthesis of melody and vocals.

Overall Score: 8/10

Oceanlab – On A Good Day (Daniel Kandi Remix)

Oceanlab’s debut album last summer made some noise with tracks that were released years prior like Sirens of the Sea and their smash hit album debut song Miracle. Listening to the album, there were a few good tracks on there, but nothing too sensational in and of itself. It seems like as is the case with many Above & Beyond songs, once mediocre songs find ways to revitalize themselves through remixes either by their own crew or another producer. From Breaking Ties to On a Good Day to the still unreleased remix of Lonely Girl by Gareth Emery, these once average tracks have found ways to make themselves noteworthy club tracks, and Daniel Kandi’s remix of On a Good Day may be the best out of all of them. Played by more artists during the festivities in ASOT 400 than any other track, Daniel Kandi shows why he’s one of the premiere movers and shakers in the trance world today. Get this track today.

Overall Score: 9/10

Re:Locate & Mark Sigma – Piranha (Heatbeat Remix)

Heatbeat may be a relatively new and still unknown name to many people, but he is an Argentinian producer who has a very distinct style of electro sounds & tech-trance. From his first big hit Nebula to Paradise Garage (which was in ASOT 2008), to his new track Vergatron, they are all club killers that absolutely rock the house. His most recent remix of Piranha by Mark Sigma aka M6 is dynamate and easily trumps the original. If you’re a DJ playing live, throw some heatbeat tracks and remixes in your set and see how much people go crazy when the buildup crashes down and the payoff hits in the track.

Overall Score: 8.5/10

Will Holland feat. Yana Kay – Tears In The Rain (Orjan Nilsen remix)

It’s no secret that we are a bit partial to Orjan here at TDM, but if he were to stop creating monster tracks, then we would just as quickly disown our partiality. Will Holland’s Tears in the Rain has been around for some time, but with Orjan’s expert remixing, this track once again has new life. The original great vocals mix amazingly with Orjan’s distinct style for a track that is awesome to groove to. Definitely check this one out.

Overall Score: 9/10

Claudia Cazacu feat. Audrey Gallagher – Free Fallin

This is probably the most by the book definition of uplifting trance you can get. Even so, how much does this track destroy the club when dropped in the middle of a set? What is there to say, it’s very John O’Callaghan-esque, features the vocals of Audrey Gallagher, and has a life of its own. Armin has been known to tailor his set style to the individual tastes of the region he’s playing in, but it speaks volumes when this track was consistently a staple of every set for a good month and a half or more.

Overall Score: 9/10

Roger Shah & Chris Jones presents Open Minded – To The Sky (Club Mix)

Although DJ Shah and Chris Jones’ first track together Going Wrong on Armin’s Imagination album didn’t capture our attention as much here on TDM, this track certainly has. Making its debut on ASOT 400 like so many other new tracks, Roger Shah has arguably topped Going Wrong with Chris Jones with a more visceral and less balaeric track. Definitely a good combination, and worthy to be checked out.

Overall Score: 8.5/10

Ashley Wallbridge & Andy Moor featuring Meighan Nealon – Faces

Meighan Nealon has been doing vocals for Ashley Wallbridge (Ashley is actually a guy) for pretty much all of his tracks. With their powers combined (in a Captain Planet sort of way), there is really not much to expect except an absolutely massive track. What is there to be said about Andy Moor that hasn’t already been said? He is an absolute master and genius of producing and produces more extremely high quality tracks in one year than most big artists will ever create in their lifetime. The flow and style of the track most definitely favors Moor’s unique pitch and blend. A masterful haunting piece of work, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t go out and pick up this track right now. Well, other than the fact that it’s not released yet on vinyl.

Overall Score: 9.5/10

TyDi feat. Audrey Gallagher – You Walk Away

To round up our roundup, is our favorite track of the moment from the #1 Australian up and coming DJ TyDi. His album just released and also debuting on ASOT 400 is his track with Audrey Gallagher. The track is the total package in the sense of pretty much every category we care about here at TDM. Haunting vocals not seen from Audrey since she lent her voice to Agnelli & Nelson’s Holding onto Nothing, beautiful breakbeats, variance of different sounds, amazing buildup, great payoff. Seriously, just get this track and don’t look back.

Overall Score: 10/10

DJ Shah & Tenishia – You’re So Cool (Big Stage Mix)

Ok, first thing you notice is the song name… now when I had first read the title of the song with Tenishia originally, I had thought “Sounds like the song will be about a girl who adores a guy or a girl who is satirizing a fool”. Much to my surprise, it’s not at all about either, and Roger Shah probably believes that cool is an appropriate synonym for cold in English. It’s ok though, as the original mix was quite lackluster. DJ Shah’s big stage mix is quite on point though, and blends his unique selling point formula of balaeric music with uplift and energy. The vocals are a nice addition despite the flagrant misuse of the word cool, but I for one would love to hear this track in a live event.

Overall Score:8/10

Cosmic Gate – Sign of The Times

4. Sign Of The Times
5. Under Your Spell
6. Not Enough Time
7. F.A.V.
8. Trip To P.D.
9. Only Time
10. Arctic Sunset
11. Body Of Conflict
12. Whatever
13. Seize The Day

We here at Trance Dance Music received an preliminary promotional CD of this new release by legendary duo Cosmic Gate. It is scheduled to hit stores March 23 although some copies are already floating around the Internet if you want to have a listen (Google is your friend). As we have already reviewed their previous single Not Enough Time in a previous post, the rest of the album is very shaky at best. It is very housey and that certain little something that makes the listener bob their head up and down is missing. Some older popular singles like Body of Conflict from a few years back are on here. As huge fans of Cosmic Gate in previous years, we regret to say that this CD did not quite match our expectations here on TDM.

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Stay tuned, subscribe to the RSS feed, because an influx of quality reviews, thoughts, and other content will be making its way to this blog quite soon.
